Hello Mindful Soul,
This meditation is intended to foster feelings of safety and peace, leading you to an effortless state of relaxation.
It’s hard to feel relaxed when your nervous system is stuck in a constant state of fight or flight… So let’s take a few minutes to get grounded and listen to the soothing sounds of birdsong. Historically the sound of birds singing was a signal to us humans that we were safe and we could relax, like “the canary in the coal mine”. Today listening to birdsong taps into our primal instincts promoting a sense of calm by activating our parasympathetic nervous system, which allows us to rest and return to a state of inner peace.
As always, if you have the time, take a few minutes to write in your journal about whatever may have come up today. It’s a wonderful way to explore your thoughts and feeling and cultivate self-awareness.
